When I was a kid I used to believe in Aswang when my grandmother who took care of me told me that Aswang are true, even the older people in our small barrio (small town) talked about it all the time. I remembered I get scared every time I walked by myself, all I thought about is Aswang. But now I realized that Aswang are not real, they don't exist because I thought about it back home our houses was a small hut with windows that can't be closed, which simply means you can see the stars in our house during night time. But nothing happened to me or to my nephews because we could've been eating easily by them. Back home people easily believed to other people say. By researching this topic I do believe that Aswang is not real it's superstition before modern medicine and science, Aswangs served to explain miscarriages and other maladies. Today, aside from entertainment value, Filipino mothers often tell their children Aswang stories to keep them off the streets and keep them home at night.

Evidence
I honestly quite not sure if the Aswang really exist or not, but I found this on the web called "myLot" are people that believe it’s real and people believe that aren't real.
"I have experience "Aswang" who made me scare when my wife was pregnant with youngest son. I saw a big bird that making sounds in the middle of the night in our house at the province. Many folk stories that "Aswang" do really exist, and I do believe on it for it is also stated in the bible that this creatures are evil spirits".
"I personally don't believe Aswang. I guess it's only a myth. When I was young, I kept on hearing stories about it and I was really scared. But until now, I haven't seen any so I guess it's not true".
"I have heard a lot of stories about Aswang, but I don’t believe that there really exist an Aswang until I see one right in front of me trying to prey on his victim. I haven't seen one for the last 40 years of my life."
“Aswang are mythical creatures from the Filipino culture. They are not real”.
“There's really no proof that Aswang exists. But then again, I'm not from Capiz nor did I ever have experiences with such creatures if they did exist”.

Stories
I grew up in Province Masbate Aroroy Philippines. Aswang or Wak-Wak is much the same the famous stories in the Philippines. One night I was setting down outside the house on the white sands enjoying the moon that night when I notices something flying, flapping its wings at points it to me, to my surprise I cannot make something to what I see, black in color maybe the size of a dog at the same time I heard "wuk wuk wuk". I was so scared that I sprint to the house catching my breath; my grandma got worried what had happened. Later that night she told us some stories about Aswang or Wak-Wak. "Wak-Wak is specifically supposed to change into its birdlike form by leaving behind its lower body; it flies around looking for victims, especially pregnant women. It lands on a house and makes a small hole on the roof through which it slips through its long, threadlike tongue. Once it reaches a warm body, it sucks out the heart, lungs, liver and intestines. In the case of a pregnant woman, the baby is targeted. Also she said an "Aswang is revealed by using a bottle of a special oil extracted from boiled and decanted coconut meat and mixed with certain plant stems upon which special prayers being said. When an Aswang comes near or roams around the house at night, the oil is said to boil (or froth into bubbles) and continue boiling until the Aswang departs. In addition Buntot pagi or stingray's tails, shiny, sterling silver swords, and images of old crones or grandmothers have been said to dispel their presence. Additionally throwing salt at Aswangs is also said to cause their skin to burn. This belief may stem from the purifying powers attributed to salt crystals." They are also said to abhor garlic.

History
Capiz became the second Spanish settlement after Cebu when Captain Diego de Artienda, sent by Legaspi landed in the town of Pan-ay and proclaimed it the capital of the province. The capital was then moved to the present location of Roxas City.

In 1945, the region was liberated by the joint Filipino and American troops with Filipino guerrillas from the defeated Japanese Imperial forces during Second World War.
Capiz is a province of the Philippines located in the Western Visayas region. Capiz faces the Sibuyan Sea to the north. Capiz is known for its mother-of-pearl shells that have the same name and are used for decoration, making lampshades, trays, window doors, etc. Capiz well known as Aswang in the Philippines. The Aswang
The topic that I will explore is the Aswang or (Asuwang) are the most feared of supernatural creature on the Philippines. An Aswang is generally viewed as a shape-shifter that prowls the evening looking for corpses, infants, fetuses and sometimes, people to consume. Also they can enter the body of a person and through this person they inflict harm on those that they dislike. Most common are the female variety that appear as an ugly old woman with long, unkempt hair, blood-shot eyes, long nails, and a long, black tongue. They have holes in their armpits which contain oil. This gives them power of flight. They can transform themselves into shapes, even inanimate objects. They prey on children, pregnant people, and ill people. They are also called vampires. When they attack a prey, they make a replica of the prey, and send it to their home. The victim will get sick and die. I choose this topic because back in the Philippines I used to horrify by them.
