When I was a kid I used to believe in Aswang when my grandmother who took care of me told me that Aswang are true, even the older people in our small barrio (small town) talked about it all the time. I remembered I get scared every time I walked by myself, all I thought about is Aswang. But now I realized that Aswang are not real, they don't exist because I thought about it back home our houses was a small hut with windows that can't be closed, which simply means you can see the stars in our house during night time. But nothing happened to me or to my nephews because we could've been eating easily by them. Back home people easily believed to other people say. By researching this topic I do believe that Aswang is not real it's superstition before modern medicine and science, Aswangs served to explain miscarriages and other maladies. Today, aside from entertainment value, Filipino mothers often tell their children Aswang stories to keep them off the streets and keep them home at night.
